The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are reruiting to fill the position below:

Summary:

  • The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties:

  • The incumbent serves as the Bodyguard (BG) Shift Leader (SL) and/or Agent In Charge (AIC) for the Protective Security Unit in the execution of protective security operations for the U.S. Ambassador/Chief of Mission (COM), and other designated or visiting U.S. government officials as directed.
  • Under the supervision of the Bodyguard Supervisor and managed by the Regional Security Officer (RSO) to Consulate Lagos in order to protect him/her from harm and embarrassment.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of High / Secondary School is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a commercial bodyguard, civilian or in the Nigeria police or military is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of defense measures to be used in the event of a terrorist attack, such as that learned in the military or law enforcement training is required.
  • Knowledge in medical, fire, hostile attack, defensive and emergence driving procedures is required.
  • Must be familiar with Nigeria police services, military, security and other government offices to ensure effective liaison and to facilitate effective protective operations including advance and motorcade operations.

  • Ability to maintain physical fitness and endure frequent travel, long working hours in a stressful working environment while maintaining the above standards is required.
