As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of a stable, secure systems infrastructure.
You will support in the development of the projects (hardware, software, and/or solutions-based) and contribute to the delivery of outstanding IT service.
Key Responsibilities for the Role
Providing project and systems support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence, over the phone, via remote access and in person.
Contribute to team discussions to help shape and further improve the service.
Administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Cloud, and virtualization technologies.
Engage in the evaluation, implementation, configuration, and testing of new servers, products, and services.
Assist with additional configuration, integration, and improvements to existing IT services.
Assist with the deployment of OS and application updates to Windows clients, including pre-deployment research and testing.
Assist with server backup monitoring and verification.
Assist in the patching and updating of allocated Windows and Linux server systems, Adobe Update, Security Updates, Firmware updates, etc.
Assist with deploying new equipment, software, and solutions (and repurposing of existing equipment) for Infrastructure Projects.
Requirements for the Role
University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A Master’s degree from a recognized University will be an advantage.
Member of professional associations in CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, and Linux
Professional IT Certifications such as MCS, and Red Hat are an added advantage
At least 2 years of relevant experience in Server infrastructure design, implementation, and management. Experience in designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, cloud, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
Proficiency in managing and maintaining server operating systems, such as Windows Server or Linux, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
An understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
Hand-on Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including infrastructure deployment, migration, and management.
