Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer with expertise in supply chain management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import/export operations, internal procurement validation, vendor management, inventory management, tender initiation and management, global and local sourcing, asset tagging and monitoring, and procurement scheduling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
  • Coordinate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
  • Validate internal procurement requests and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve favorable terms.
  • Oversee inventory management, optimizing stock levels and minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Initiate and manage tender processes, evaluating bids and selecting suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Source goods and services globally and locally, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Implement asset tagging and monitoring systems to track company assets and prevent loss or theft.
  • Manage bank account operations related to procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Develop and maintain procurement schedules to support operational needs and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in import/export operations, vendor management, inventory management, and tender management.
  • Strong understanding of global and local sourcing practices and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with experience in asset tagging and monitoring preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
