Job Summary

We are a leading player in the cassava processing industry, committed to delivering high-quality cassava-based products to meet the growing demands of our consumers. We take pride in our state-of-the-art processing facility, equipped with cutting-edge machinery for cassava chip processing, cassava starch production, garri processing, and at least six other major cassava derivative products. To ensure the effective operation and longevity of our vast farming, production, raw material, and finished product delivery systems, we require the services of an immensely skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on cassava processing equipment, including but not limited to cassava chip processors, cassava starch processors, and garri processing machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical, electrical, or operational issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule and execute preventive maintenance activities.

Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the factory’s fleet, including tractors, trucks, and other vehicles.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all vehicles to maximize efficiency and minimize disruptions.

Facility Inspection:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the processing facility to identify and address any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Create and maintain detailed records of inspection findings and maintenance activities.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Build, manage, develop, and provide leadership for a high-performance, nimble, technically and digitally savvy maintenance team of young technicians.

Budget Management:

  • Work closely with the management team to develop and effectively manage the company’s maintenance budget.
  • Source and procure necessary spare parts and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Generate reports to track equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a food or agricultural processing or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cassava processing machinery and related equipment.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
