Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Junior Accountant for immediate employment. Reporting directly to the Finance Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing the financial results of the company.

Further Responsibilities:

– Bookkeeping, preparing, and recording journal entries.
– Tracking income and expenses, and preparing detailed revenue and expense reports when necessary.
– Completing monthly bank and revenue account reconciliations.
– Interfacing with managers and executives regarding questions and issues.
– Supporting external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
– Conducting daily reconciliation of accounts.
– Assisting with month-end reconciliation of accounts (Purchases, sales, inventory, expenses, transfers, payments, deposits).
– Working to continuously improve accounting/finance procedures and internal controls.

Role Requirements:

– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
– Minimum of 1 year of experience working for a consumer finance company, Microfinance Company, or bank.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Excellent written and face-to-face interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills.
– Strong mathematical skills.
– Commitment to achieving performance goals.
– Familiarity and experience using accounting technology programs.
– Familiarity with tax accounting for finance companies in Nigeria is highly desirable.
– Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
