Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for pharmaceutical items and consumables to meet the needs of the hospital.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure product quality, availability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including physicians, pharmacists, and administrators, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Manage inventory levels and optimize stock replenishment to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines governing the procurement of pharmaceutical products.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Supervise and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on pharmaceutical items and consumables.
- Proven track record of successfully managing procurement operations in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, including drug classifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms and pricing agreements.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
