Receive, test and study urine, blood or other samples for analysis
Performing tests in chemical pathology, hematology, parasitology and medical microbiology
Manage, operate and maintain laboratory equipment

Guide and supervise junior staff and technicians.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field is generally required.
Certification from a recognized accrediting body, such as the the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
Minimum 3 years hands -on experience.
Completion of a clinical internship or practicum in a clinical laboratory setting is often required as part of the educational program.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures, including specimen collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of results. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instruments, and technology used for testing and analysis.
Strong attention to detail is essential for accurately performing laboratory tests, recording data, and maintaining precise records. Medical Laboratory Scientists must follow strict protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
