Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team in supporting the research, technology, and innovation division.In this role, you will play a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel involved in their research and innovation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures for research activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with research projects.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs for researchers and staff.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety incidents.
- Liaise with relevant authorities on health and safety matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Safety and Environment (HSE) or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- [3+ years] of experience in health and safety, preferably in the oil and gas industry (a plus)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation (a plus)
- Strong understanding of Nigerian health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
