Job Summary
- The Marine Engineer is responsible for sustaining the POGL tugboat’s sea-worthiness to support tanker berthing at SPM/CBM
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide operational and engineering support to marine vessels
- Perform engineering analysis and documentation of the vessel’s condition
- Manage vessel machinery performance and efficiency
- Provide engineering support in the repair, modification, and overhaul of vessels
- Coordinates with external engineering consultants and vendors
- Ensure proficiency in using and testing electronic equipment
- Manage maintenance activities on tugboats
- Conduct inspections of vessels to confirm adherence to safety regulations
- Provide oversight for maintenance and repair operations on company-owned vessels and shore facilities and perform other duties as needed
- Maintain proper maintenance records
- Develop various SOPs for vessel maintenance, operations, and safety
Required Knowledge
- Good knowledge of vessel operations and maintenance
- Knowledge and experience of vessel systems (Mechanical, electrical, and electronics)
- Good knowledge of marine oil pollution prevention requirements
- Knowledge of marine safety requirements
- Good knowledge of marine vessel design and propulsion
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Marine Engineer
Quality/Skill Required
- Should be comfortable working at sea
- Must be a strong team player.
