Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Manage the school’s financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school’s budget, including forecasting revenue and expenses to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analyses for school administrators, board members, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee petty cash disbursements to ensure adequate liquidity and adherence to financial policies.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to negotiate contracts, process invoices, and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Student Accounts: Manage student accounts, including tuition fees, scholarships, and financial aid, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in billing and collections processes.
  • Financial Planning: Provide support in financial planning initiatives, such as capital expenditure projects, fundraising campaigns, and grant applications, to support the school’s strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in an educational institution or non-profit organization. Experience with school accounting software is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to educational institutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, data entry, and reconciliation processes.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with school administrators, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Integrity: High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion in handling sensitive financial information and transactions.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team to achieve common goals and support the mission of the school.
