Babelos is seeking talented linguists to join our team. We specialize in African language localization, helping global companies reach new audiences on the continent.
Responsibilities
- Translate marketing materials, software interfaces, and other content into the native language.
- Ensure translations are accurate, culturally relevant, and maintain the original intent of the content.
- Research and apply terminology specific to the target market and industry.
- Proofread and edit translations for quality and consistency.
- Perform transcriptions
- Collate language data in the native language
- Collaborate with project managers and other linguists to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in translation and localization.
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in any of Ijaw, Urhobo, Efik, Ibibio, Itsekiri and excellent English proficiency.
- Familiarity with translation or localization, with a focus on African languages.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt content for different audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in translation tools and CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) software a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
