Job Summary

 

  • We seek an experienced Agronomist to lead our crop management and production efforts.
  • The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on soil science, crop nutrition, and pest management to optimize yields, quality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Crop Management:

 

 

 

  • Conduct soil analysis and recommend fertilizers/ameliorants.
  • Develop and implement crop rotation plans, irrigation schedules, and nutrient management strategies.
  • Monitor crop health; diagnose and address pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.

Agricultural Research and Development:

 

  • Stay updated on latest agronomic practices, research, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with research institutions/universities to implement innovative methods.
  • Conduct field trials and demonstrations.

Farm Operations:

 

  • Provide technical guidance to farm staff on best practices.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

 

  • Collect and analyze data on crop yields, soil health, and weather patterns.
  • Prepare reports on crop performance, soil fertility, and pest management.
  • Develop and maintain databases for crop management and soil analysis.

Collaboration and Training:

 

  • Train farm staff on agronomic principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., irrigation, machinery) to optimize farm operations.
  • Participate in industry workshops/conferences to stay current.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in agronomy, crop management, or agricultural research.
  • Proven track record of increasing crop yields and improving soil health.
  • Strong understanding of soil science, crop physiology, and entomology.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
