Brighthouse Academy is located in Ayetoro Gbede, a very serene part of Kogi state, away for the hustle and bustle of the state capital, however situated along a federal highway.

Job Details:

  • Job Title: Nursery School Teacher

Job Review:

  • Motivate children and use resources imaginatively to help them learn.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for them to not only develop their academic, social and communication skills, while recording observations and summarizing their achievements.

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree in Education, with a focus on early childhood development.
  • Alternatively, a degree in other fields with PGD in education Or, National Certificate in Education (NCE) qualification with a minimum 3 years of experience.
  • TRCN certification will be an added advantage.

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in teaching early years.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
  • Experience with children between 3-5 years will added advantage.
  • Experience in developing eLearning resources.
  • Use of computing devices – computers, scanner, printers etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • An understanding of how small children learn.
  • The ability to inspire and enthuse young children.
  • Ability to communicate with young children at their level
  • Resourcefulness, responsibility, and a caring nature
  • Ability to work independently with children, as well as being able to work in the wider nursery/school team.
  • A sense of humour.
  • Ability to keep things in perspective.
  • Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, arts and crafts.
  • Good mediation and nurturing abilities.
  • Patient, compassionate attitude, with a friendly, energetic disposition
  • Basic use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
  • Good understanding of 21st century learning methods and tools is required.
