Town Planner Trainee

We will train the successful candidates for 1 (One) year under the scheme.

At the end of the program, we will offer successful candidates

permanent employment with the Edo State Government.

Predict population demands that will be made in an area, whether urban or rural.
Prepare reports and plans relating to projects arising from the Masterplans.
Review and evaluate technical environmental impact reports pertaining to private and public projects and programs.
Zone lands into different uses and selects land or sites for special development such as schools, stadiums, railways, etc.
Prepare preliminary designs for layout plans and civic designs.
Investigate sites for Government projects and other public schemes and uses.
Collect physical and social survey data and various field information for assessing the effects on town planning decisions and purposes.
Examine building plans and physical development proposals.
Help protect buildings and areas that are of environmental, historical, and archeological importance.
Help mediate community disputes and develop alternate plans and recommendations for programs or projects.
Coordinate the work of the urban planning officers, staff, technical technicians, and technologists.

A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) or HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in Urban and Regional Planning.
Evidence of TOPREC registration is an added advantage.
Candidates must possess NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
Candidates must be computer literate, with good interpersonal/leadership skills, and the ability to effectively work in teams.
Applicants must be between the ages of 22-30.
Experience in using CAD & GIS Tools will be an added advantage.
