Working with the Polio Team, the LGA Consultant will provide technical assistance to the State Emergency Operating Center (EOC)/and the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA) in the planning, coordination, and management of the polio outbreak response activities in the assigned LGA.
Technical Responsibilities
Support polio teams of selected LGAs and states to plan and coordinate the polio outbreak response
Support the LGA team to convene settlement harmonization meetings with the LGA Chairman, community leaders, civilian Joint Task Force (CTF), and the military. Starting with the existing line-listing of settlements (e.g., as provided by WHO), the group will review the existing settlement listing in detail and revise as appropriate – deleting inexistent settlement names and inserting ones missed out.
Classify currently unreached settlements based on true accessibility status with input from all stakeholders mentioned above.
Develop costed LGA-level micro plans to reach each settlement with immunization Teams
Monitor implementation and ensure the use of up-to-date data for iterative planning and course correction. b. Provide data analytics and data management support
Analyze daily vaccination and supervision data during campaigns. Support documentation of polio outbreak response activities
The preparation of technical documents, briefing notes, PowerPoint slides, and other documentation and advocacy materials for engagement with external and internal stakeholders.
Development of weekly and post-campaign reports
Archiving of all polio response documents and reports for easy access by all state polio stakeholders
Job Requirements
HND, Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, and other related fields.
Experience working with primary healthcare facilities
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suites–Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Vast experience in team leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to carry out effective on-the-job training for teams
