Job Description

Context/Scope:

A key contributor to the success of the PZ Cussons commercial strategic plan with an effective and flexible field sales force; demonstrating industry leadership in both volume driving & brand building activity.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage trade spend efficiently to drive brand strategies and ‘‘win at the shelf”
  • Develop the annual trading plan by brand/channel/customer and monitor/adjust the plan based on financial delivery and Customer compliance
  • Contribute consumer insights to inform the market and regional view
  • Provide Merchandising and POP solutions by channel, category and customer and evaluate their effectiveness at the respective channels in assigned Region (s).
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and leverage ATL campaigns with customers, linking in – store activities to ATL advertising & seeking to enhance PR impact
  • Evaluate trade spend ROI
  • Manage and ensure the deployment, installation, compliance and maintenance of  merchandising and point of sale materials in assigned Region(s)

Measurement/Performance Indicators

  • Brilliant execution of all activation activities and in line with agreed objectives
  • Effective POP deployment
  • Target vs. Actual performance (KPIs)
  • Availability of pre and post evaluation of all activation activities.

  • Activation and Merchandising Manager
  • RSM, ASMs, and Marketing team
  • Activation Agencies/vendors
  • PZ Marketing & Sales network

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:

Qualifications:

  • First Degree in any discipline
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experiences: (What experience brings success to this role)

  • Minimum of 3 years commercial experience in marketing or sales
  • Demonstrable record of success in a customer or field sales management role
  • Understands customers and the selling process

Knowledge: (What does the person need to know)

  • Good knowledge of business objectives and priorities.
  • Knowledge of Shopper, channel and category trends
