Job Description
The Role: Flutterwave is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager, Compliance specializing in Compliance within the payments/financial sector to join our team support our Product & Risk and Compliance Pillars.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our products adhere to regulatory standards, driving the development of compliance features, and collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver industry-leading solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compliance Strategy: Develop and execute the compliance strategy for our FinTech products, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of industry regulations and evolving compliance standards, and proactively integrate changes into product development.
- Product Development: Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to incorporate compliance features seamlessly into product development processes. Define and prioritize compliance-related user stories, ensuring they are integrated into the product roadmap.
- Regulatory Framework: Serve as the subject matter expert on relevant financial regulations, such as KYC, AML, GDPR, and others. Work closely with legal teams to interpret and implement regulatory requirements in product development.
- Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and work with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation strategies. Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, and technology, to ensure a holistic approach to compliance in product development. Facilitate communication between teams to streamline compliance processes and improve overall efficiency.
Required competency and skillset to be a waver:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Product Management, Law or a related field
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years) as a Product Manager in the fintech industry or related financial services sector with a focus on compliance.
- Experience with Third-party provider/API integrations
- Strong commercial view across the providers to see how we save money / optimize services
- Strong KYC, transaction monitoring experience
- Experience with API-driven products and service offering Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of fintech trends, technologies, and user experience principles.
- Experience working in an agile development environment is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams.
