Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Inventory Auditor to join our team. The Senior Inventory Auditor will be responsible for overseeing and executing inventory audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Auditing: Conduct thorough audits of inventory levels, including physical counts, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management and reporting.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, audit findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit results, findings, and recommendations for management review.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations, to resolve inventory-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to junior auditors and operational staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks related to inventory management and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- 8 – 15 years progressive experience in finance, accounting, inventory, and Auditing in a senior capacity, knowledge of operational activities is an added advantage.
- Experienced in working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders from various departments.
- Will manage the inventory audit team to ensure all physical inventory counts match the financial documentation on balance sheets, income statements, and other important accounting records.
- Experienced in conducting Internal Auditing and providing strategic insights to support decision-making to management.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Inventory Audit operations and functions, including internal stock controls, investigations, risk assessments, and cost controls.
- Monitor Audit performance, analyze variances, and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in inventory management or auditing, with at least 15 years in a supervisory or senior role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, including FIFO, LIFO, and inventory valuation methods.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in conducting audits and reconciliations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Certification such as Certified Inventory Management Professional (CIMP) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
