Are you a seasoned legal professional with a passion for human rights, transparency, and accountability? An esteemed human rights non-governmental organization, with offices in Lagos and Abuja, is actively seeking highly qualified lawyers to join its Litigation and Legal Advice Unit as Legal Advisers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Legal Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in our Litigation and Legal Advice Unit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal counsel on human rights issues and anticorruption matters.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to human rights and maintaining transparency in legal processes.
  • Thinking legally, analytically, and strategically to address complex legal challenges.
  • Effectively communicating legal positions through excellent written and oral skills in English.
  •  Planning and prioritizing tasks efficiently, managing multiple demands with precision.
  • Advocating for complex issues both internally and externally with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years post-call litigation experience.
  • Knowledge of anticorruption and human rights fields.
  • Commitment to human rights, transparency, and accountability.
  •  Analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities.
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  •  Capacity to defend and explain complex issues to staff and external stakeholders.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work within and outside the organization.
