Job Summary

The Account Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by managing various accounting tasks, including payment processing, bank reconciliations, and operational duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and proficiency in QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Pension, PAYE, ECA & NHF Payment Processing
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of pension contributions, PAYE (Pay As You Earn) taxes, ECA (Employee Compensation Act) payments, and NHF (National Housing Fund) contributions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all payments and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Raising Other States PAYE:  Prepare and submit PAYE returns for states outside the primary jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
    • Collaborate with relevant state tax authorities to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  •  Bank and Receivable Reconciliation on QuickBooks
    • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and identify discrepancies.
    • Manage accounts receivable by tracking outstanding invoices and ensuring timely collection.
  • Banking Runs
    • Perform banking transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, as required.
    • Maintain accurate records of all banking activities and coordinate with the finance team to ensure funds are properly allocated.
  • Other Operational Duties
    • Assist with various operational tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining financial records.
    • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the consulting industry.

Skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
