Job Summary
- The Strategic Planning Officer will be responsible for finding solutions to business issues by gathering and reviewing relevant information and testing data in innovative ways.
- Supports the Corporate & Strategy Planning team towards addressing high-impact issues at the top of the Bank’s Strategy agenda ranging from longer-term industry positioning, new product assessment for nearer-term market entry and deep-dives into the business lines and operational functions towards improving organizational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor industry trends across diverse metrics and share findings with team members and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in key strategic, cross-functional, and transformational projects.
- Develop strategic presentations for diverse audiences as assigned by Head of Department.
- Perform scenario modelling using analytical techniques to guide strategic planning activities towards unlocking value for the Bank.
- Track and monitor performance of the Bank and its units with respect to key initiatives and send relevant report to the Head, Strategy & Corporate Planning
- Liaise with the Finance team towards aligning investments, budgets, and resource allocations to the Corporate Strategy.
- Collate all departments’ strategic initiatives and build comprehensive project plans with agreed timelines, key performance indicators (KPIs) and identified parties responsible for the execution.
- Analyse market trends, competitor actions, and the geopolitical environment to understand implications and recommend potential changes to the Bank’s Corporate Strategy.
Core Requirements
- A first Degree from a reputable higher institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity. Background in finance is an added advantage.
- A Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
- Additional professional qualification will be an added advantage.
