Job Description
- The selected candidate for the role of procurement officer will be responsible for:
- Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- To source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Control the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
- Oversee and manage IT systems that track inventories, deliveries and supply of goods.
- Create new and review any existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Approve purchase orders,and organize and confirm delivery of goods and services.
- Prepare procurement reports.
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
- Investigate and resolve issues regarding to low standard, low quality or damaged goods delivered from suppliers.
- Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses, damages to goods and goods shortages.
- To be involved as in the reconciliation of physical stock with the stock in the system.
- To ensure the correct and timely valuation of the inventory and to be involved in directing and managing procedures related to offloading, packing and unpacking
- Reporting to the suppliers or vendors any discrepancies between physical counts and purchase orders at the earliest.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degrees with 3 – 4 years of relevant work experience.
Salary
- N180,000 – N200,000 Monthly.
