Dantown Assets Limited is seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience with accounting software, and a keen eye for accuracy in financial records.
Job Requirements
- B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
- ICAN certification is an added advantage
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the account clerks and cover for them in cases of unforeseen circumstances, leave, or any other emergency.
- Approve transactions initiated by account clerks (which includes customers reversals, giveaways, and other manual credits).
- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements and report before the 5th of a new month.
- Maintain accuracy in the general ledger.
- Code invoice, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Reconcile bank accounts at least weekly, monthly, and quarterly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
- Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Ensure internal audits and verification of all account clerk’s activities on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis are conducted.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
