  • As a Power Engineer at Suburban Fiber Company, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of power systems related to our fiber network infrastructure in suburban areas.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the uninterrupted power supply necessary for the operation of our network.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and implement power systems for our fiber network infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, battery backups, and other necessary equipment.
  • Power System Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain power systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve any power-related issues that may arise.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess current and future power needs of the network infrastructure and develop strategies to accommodate growth while maintaining efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing power systems, including safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors for the procurement of power equipment and services. Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement contingency plans for power outages and other emergencies. Respond promptly to power-related emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure the continuity of operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of power systems, including schematics, equipment specifications, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to other team members on power-related topics, including safety procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Previous experience in power systems design, implementation, and maintenance, preferably in a telecommunications or network infrastructure environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution systems, voltage regulation, and energy efficiency.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing power systems, such as NEC, NESC, and IEEE.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
