As a Power Engineer at Suburban Fiber Company, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of power systems related to our fiber network infrastructure in suburban areas.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the uninterrupted power supply necessary for the operation of our network.
Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and implement power systems for our fiber network infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, battery backups, and other necessary equipment.
Power System Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain power systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve any power-related issues that may arise.
Capacity Planning: Assess current and future power needs of the network infrastructure and develop strategies to accommodate growth while maintaining efficiency.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing power systems, including safety regulations and industry best practices.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors for the procurement of power equipment and services. Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of products and services.
Emergency Response: Develop and implement contingency plans for power outages and other emergencies. Respond promptly to power-related emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure the continuity of operations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of power systems, including schematics, equipment specifications, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to other team members on power-related topics, including safety procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Previous experience in power systems design, implementation, and maintenance, preferably in a telecommunications or network infrastructure environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution systems, voltage regulation, and energy efficiency.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing power systems, such as NEC, NESC, and IEEE.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
