Dantown Assets Limited is seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience with accounting software, and a keen eye for accuracy in financial records.

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
  • ICAN certification is an added advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the account clerks and cover for them in cases of unforeseen circumstances, leave, or any other emergency.
  • Approve transactions initiated by account clerks (which includes customers reversals, giveaways, and other manual credits).
  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements and report before the 5th of a new month.
  • Maintain accuracy in the general ledger.
  • Code invoice, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least weekly, monthly, and quarterly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Ensure internal audits and verification of all account clerk’s activities on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis are conducted.
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
